End of the Summer Events

End of the Summer events! Can you believe the summer is already winding down? Kids will soon be headed back to school and we’ll all begin preparing for some Fall fun, but not before the Triangle sends summer off with a bang!

We’ve already seen some huge accomplishments happen in our area in recent weeks, including Durham’s most recently earned title of one of the 3 Best Cities For Traveling Millennials Ready To Settle Down by Forbes Magazine! The Bull City earned this accolade by having three times the amount of jobs and a 6% lower cost of living compared to national averages, as well as its ranking top 15 in the nation for ease of commute!

Raleigh’s Brewery Bhavana was also just given some high praise when it was named one of the nation’s 50 best new restaurants by Bon Appétit Magazine! If you’ve been on the lookout for more great new restaurants in Raleigh, we have some recommendations that are sure to tickle your tastebuds! The Cortez is Glenwood South’s newest concept, with fresh, eclectic sea fare and handcrafted cocktails.

Downtown Raleigh’s Mulino Italian Kitchen & Bar is a gastronomic journey across the Italian culinary landscape with a variety of antipasti options, and pasta dishes that are rich and full of flavor. North Hills Raleigh just debuted 41Hundred, a new concept inside of the Renaissance Hotel. Offering simply-sophisticated, international cuisine, 41Hundred’s menu includes shareable plates best enjoyed with a group.

St. Roch Fine Oysters + Bar will satiate your oysters and rosé cravings in a great downtown Raleigh setting. They offer fresh N.C. seafood with a touch of New Orleans flair. To try other renowned Raleigh restaurants without the heavy tabs, check out Downtown Raleigh Restaurant Week, August 21-27. This week-long dining extravaganza showcases culinary talent in the place Southern Living calls “the new chef’s capital.”

If you’re an NC State fan, you’ll have several reasons to visit the capital city and get in gear for the upcoming Wolfpack seasons. Packapalooza happens August 19th. This all-day block party and street festival welcomes back students to NC State University with music, art, and entertainment for the whole family.

On August 26th, NC State’s Gregg Museum of Art & Design will celebrate its long-awaited re-opening at its new home in the Historic Chancellor’s Residence. Cary will get to have a celebration of the arts this month, as well when the 41st Annual Lazy Daze Arts and Crafts Festival takes place August 26-27. This celebration of the arts, music, and food will feature artist demonstrations, five music stages, a beer garden and kids entertainment areas!

When September rolls in, Durham will have your Labor Day weekend plans covered at the Bull City Rumble. This vintage motorcycle and scooter rally takes place September 1-2 in downtown and will fill the streets with the sights and sounds of vintage scooters, motorcycles, and enthusiasts from around the world!

Then hop over to downtown Raleigh September 7-10, when the Hopscotch Music Festival will take over! Dubbed “America’s (Secretly) Best Festival” and “the premiere experimental and underground festival in America”,  Hopscotch will feature more than 140 bands over three days. Hopscotch is known for adventurous lineups, memorable performances, and a fan-friendly atmosphere. From a large outdoor main stage in Raleigh City Plaza to intimate club shows, the festival offers music in almost every genre imaginable-rock, hip-hop, metal, folk, electronic, experimental and more-and its schedule highlights this diversity each year!
