Happy 2018

Happy 2018!!

We hope you had a beautiful holiday season and are as invigorated as we are to take on this brand new year and seize the opportunities it brings us! We’re thrilled to be headed into a new year of business in such a supportive community with booming growth. As January leads the charge and sets the tone for your coming year, it’s an ideal time to check in with yourself in every aspect of your life- from health and wellness to your career goals to your financial plans. We truly believe there’s no better investment for quality of life and for your net worth than real estate. In fact, many wealth management advisors will recommend real estate as a leading tactic to growing your income and diversifying your portfolio. So even if you’re currently living in the home of your dreams, you’d be missing out if you didn’t consider taking on a rental or investment opportunity as the Triangle continues to flourish and grow at unprecedented rates. While you mull over these life-changing considerations, it’s important that you remember to have FUN this year too! Get 2018 started off on the right foot with some wonderful (and perhaps more importantly, WARM) local events.

If you haven’t heard all the buzz surrounding our local food scene lately, we truly do need to help find you a new home, because you must have been living under a rock! Get a taste of a few of the greats while Triangle Restaurant Week provides affordable opportunities the week of the 22-28. This celebration of culinary excellence sees some of our area’s best restaurants offer up special menu options at fixed pricing, giving residents and visitors a great opportunity to return to an old favorite dining spot or discover a new one. We recommend checking out the artsy ambiance of 21c Museum Hotel’s Counting House, the outstanding dishes of 18 Seaboard, the funky flavors of Garland, and the delicious Spanish tapas of Mateo.

Duke’s Nasher Museum will also have a special treat for you this month, with their latest exhibit! Now through Sunday, you can experience “The Medici’s Painter: Carlo Dolci and 17th-Century Florence,” the first exhibition in the country devoted to the luminous paintings of Italian artist Carlo Dolci. A favorite of the Medici court, Dolci was a celebrated artist in his day, but his original interpretation of sacred subjects fell out of favor in the 19th century. “The Medici’s Painter” invites us to see this artist with new eyes.

If your tastes are aimed a bit more out of this world, head to UNC’s Morehead Planetarium for some under-the-stars fun, including weekly yoga sessions beginning this Wednesday. There will be four yoga sessions, each with a different feel to create a unique, immersive environment brought to you by Carrboro Yoga Company. Morehead Planetarium will also host LEGOPalozza January 27-28. See all sorts of elaborate LEGO displays from settlements in outer space to hometowns throughout America. There’s something for everyone to enjoy!

Towards the end of the month, laughter will fill DPAC when Emmy-Award winning comedy writer John Mulaney stops by on the 26th and iTunes podcast sensation Joe Rogan comes through on the 27th. Both events are guaranteed to have you laughing so hard, you’ll forget about the wind chill outside!

Wherever this new year takes you, we’re so glad to be sharing another trip around the sun with you! Please keep us in mind for your real estate endeavors and adventures in 2018!  Whether you are thinking about selling, downsizing, investing or buying your next home, we have the experience and market knowledge to help you take advantage of today’s real estate market.
