Now that the madness of March has ended, this April is showering the Triangle with more than just unpredictable weather! While you’re busy dusting off the pollen and trying to decide if it’s finally time to put away your winter wardrobe, don’t forget to enjoy all the amazing events celebrating the official kick-off of outdoor entertainment season here in the Triangle!
The North Carolina Museum of Art’s highly anticipated You Are Here exhibit opened this past weekendYou Are Here with a sold-out grand opening all-night party! Become a part of the art in this interactive exhibit experience! You Are Here features art installations by 14 contemporary artists from all over the world, including large-scale light works, sound installations, video works, mixed-media room-size environments, and site-specific projects, and we’re lucky enough to have it here in the Triangle through July 22nd!
One of our favorite local attractions and America’s favorite pastime has also kicked off with the promise of many incredible nights ahead and the beautiful Durham Bulls Athletic Park! Catch the team play tomorrow night at their very first Bark in the Park event presented by Banfield Pet Hospital. Fans can bring their dogs to the park and all ticket proceeds will benefit Second Chance Pet Adoptions. Prior to the game fans are encouraged to bring their furry friend on to the field for a pregame dog parade!
 
Get in the spirit of North Carolina Beer Month with festivals galore celebrating this hoppy time of year! The fun begins this Saturday with Live & Local: Spring Fest on Hillsborough Street returning to celebrate spring with unique art, music, food and local beer. A hand-crafted art market and a kids zone make this event a truly family-friendly affair that’s open to all. Follow it up with the North Carolina ‘Cuegrass Festival on the 21st, a can’t-miss event in downtown Raleigh’s Warehouse District. The 10th annual event, hosted by The Pit, will be a jam-packed day full of Eastern-style barbecue, local brews and toe-tappin’ bluegrass music! Top it all off with Brewgaloo on the 27th-28th! This is the largest craft beer festival of its kind in our state and will feature 100 breweries and 50 food trucks!

There’s also a wealth of exceptional Durham breweries we recommend you check out to celebrate any day of Beer Month! From the freshly opened Barrel Culture on South Alston to 2017’s Best in Show winner, Bull City Burger & Brewery, to the grassy beer garden of Ponysaurus, Durham- as always- has got a lot to love!
Head over to Orange County for a flavorful slice of family fun, beginning this Saturday with the UNC Science Expo! This free celebration showcases the diversity of scientific research at UNC-Chapel Hill and will feature 100+ booths with hands-on activities, lab tours, science challenges on-site food trucks and more! Discover the magic of art in heart of Hillsborough at the Hillsborough Arts Show on the 21st. This juried show features 40 artists with original artwork and handcrafted items for sale on the lawn of the historic Hillsborough Visitors Center. Then, celebrate nature’s artwork at the Chapel Hill Garden Tour on the 28th and 29th! This year’s Tour theme is “Town and Gown: Synergy in Bloom”, and will include tours of beautiful public and private gardens, as well as Plein air artists, musicians and select garden-related vendors to add additional charm!
